Wat Bangkung, Samut Songkram

Bang Kung Temple or Prokbo Temple or Bang Kung Camp is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Samutsongkhram. Constructed in Ayuthaya era (around 1760), the temple's area was used as an Army camp of King Taksin or the King of Thonburi in order to protect Kingdom of Thailand and it was abandon for almost 200 years. The most interesting thing is the small chapel which is completely covered by the roos of banyan tree. You can also see the mural about Buddha's biography painted during Ayuthaya era inside the chapel.
